Yang Gang, born in 1998 in Shanghai, currently lives and works in Hangzhou and Shanghai. He graduated from the Fourth Studio of the Oil Painting Department at the China Academy of Art and went on a government-sponsored exchange to the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Dijon in France in 2024. As a Chinese artist born in the late 1990s, Yang Gang's personal experiences and everyday observations have led him to focus on the issue that the globalization of art production and the globalization of manufacturing are one and the same. He "assembles" and responds to his relationship with the era, art history, and contemporary producers through various means such as painting, video, installations, project planning, and performative interventions, engaging in "a diacritical practice" to differentiate for the sake of differentiation.
